About the role:

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us build and scale our backend data integration and search systems. You’ll play a critical role in building and optimizing systems that connect with external platforms like Notion, Jira, Confluence, OneDrive, and others—powering our intelligent search engine and AI-driven workflows.

You’ll work closely with the AI team and product leadership to shape and implement backend architecture using Python, Postgres, Celery, Redis, and Google Cloud Platform. This is a hands-on role where your work will directly impact our core platform and the experience of our users.

As Senior Backend Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Architect and develop scalable, secure backend systems and APIs.
• Design and implement integrations with third-party data systems (e.g., Notion, Jira, Confluence, OneDrive).
• Work on enhancing our proprietary search engine, indexing and querying structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate closely with the AI team to deliver intelligent, contextual responses to user queries.
• Ensure high performance, observability, and resilience across all backend services.
• Contribute to technical strategy, code reviews, and overall engineering best practices.

You may be suited for this role if you meet the following criteria:

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Expertise in Python and cloud-based architectures (preferably GCP).
• Strong understanding of modern software development best practices, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and microservices.
• Experience with data integrations and APIs, particularly across enterprise tools.
• Familiarity with search indexing and large-scale data pipelines is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and performance tuning.
• Startup mindset: proactive, self-driven, collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity.
